Ranch Carrillo is a charming community that is comprised of many villages in Carlsbad, California. This was once the home of actor Leo Carrillo.

The Ranch Carrillo master planned community was created in 1998 and is comprised of 1,600 townhomes and single family homes. There are eighteen villages including Haciendas, Portico, Benecia, Cascada, The Estates, and Valencia. This is a family friendly neighborhood that also offers a community center, swimming pools, and miles of trails for hiking and biking. The Leo Carrillo Ranch Park is situated in the middle and features historical buildings as well as picnic grounds. The trails in this area connect residents with many parks, shopping areas, schools, and beaches.

This community is served by the San Marcos Unified School District which provides highly rated facilities like Carrillo Elementary School, San Elijo Middle School, and San Marcos High School. There are several private schools like Halstrom Academy, Sanderling Waldorf School, and St. Patrick’s Catholic School. There are also higher learning facilities nearby such as MiraCosta College and Palomar College.

There are many shopping centers like Carlsbad Premium Outlets, Village Faire, and The Shoppes at Carlsbad.

There are many parks and trails throughout the city as well as golf venues like the St. Marks Executive Golf Course which is open to the public and offers a par 58 at 2,700 yards.

Carlsbad is known as “The Village by the Sea” and is popular with tourists. This upscale resort community is located along a seven mile stretch of coastline. It is 35 miles from San Diego’s downtown district and 87 miles from Los Angeles. Attractions include the Flower Fields, Sea Life Aquarium, South Carlsbad State Beach campgrounds, and the Museum of Making Noise.
